The animation is great, but it is really mostly eyecandy. There wasn't much plot, and I don't understand how something made out of water can be crushed to death.
Other than that, the ending was decent, but lacking in appeal.
I have to say, this is one of the most fun Newgrounds games I have played in a while.
Like Flood Runner, except it has a omgwtfbbq running aspect of it, with challenges, powerups, and a good scoreboard to boot, and the medals are superb, even if some of them are nigh impossible, but that really just adds to the replay value
You basically took Knytt, infused it with Into Years of Dark Tunne(ls), without the smooth platforming of the original, and without the emotional impact of the ladder.
Any thought of creepiness can be dissuaded from the techno beat music in the background, and the character can be jagged in his jumping at times...
And while I applaud you for the effort, the game really doesn't live it to either of it's precursors...
Not only is the story short, and tries to have emotion from a less than 30 second experience, without voice acting, strange text, and a small and pointlessly emo story, that doesn't explain itself at all.
After wandering through mazes to find parts, you find cold dead corpses, even corpses of couples laying next to each other, and charred corpses destroyed from the blast.
This game is disturbing,
And thats why I give it a ten for the emotion it spawns within.

Great Job!

Dig Dug with a Dragon
But, Momizer, the gold pickaxe sucks in Minecraft...
Anyway, a solid digging game, I like it, even if monotomy does kinda set in after a while, but the slight level variations help to stem it.
